Ingot Lecture: Immigration and Governance: What Can Be Learned From Recent Immigration Law Reform Proposals

Jennifer ChaconJennifer Chacon, Professor of Law at the University of California-Irvine School of Law, is the fall speaker for the Immigration and Nationality Review. She will present a lecture entitled "Immigration and Governance: What Can Be Learned From Recent Immigration Law Reform Proposals?" on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 114. This presentation will focus on the changes that have occurred in immigration law regarding United States policy. With the upcoming comprehensive immigration reform changes and proposals, she will dive into discussion on what can be learned from historical implications regarding immigration law and what those hold for the future changes regarding immigrants in the United States. 1hour of CLE is available. IngotTrial Practice Team Takes 2nd Place in first Ohio Attorney General Trial Competition

ProBonoCongratulations to College of Law trial team members: 3Ls—Eric Kmetz, Abby Chermely, Sydney Saffold; and 2Ls—Alycia Walker, and Kylie Conley who took second place at the first Ohio Attorney General Trial Competition, held November 2-3, 2013. Additionally, Chermely was named "Best Attorney" in her round on Saturday, and Walker was named “Best Attorney” both days. Kmetz won the award for "Best Witness." (Read more)

Tax ConferenceThe 46th Annual UC Income Tax Conference will be held on December 10-11, 2013 at the Duke Energy Center. Presented by the Carl H. Lindner College of Business, this event will include an update on the latest tax laws and regulations as well as tax preparation guidance.   Lawyers can receive 13 CLE credits.
