Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice Hosts Conference on Social Justice Feminism
The Center for Race, Gender, and Social Justice will host its third annual conference on October 25-27, 2012, featuring keynote speakers Anika Rahman, President and CEO of the Ms. Foundation, and Dr. Patricia Hill Collins, Distinguished University Professor, University of Maryland, and Charles Phelps Taft Distinguished Emeritus Professor of Sociology, University of Cincinnati. This year's theme is "Social Justice Feminism." What is it? Social justice feminism is about moving from theory to practice, bridging divides, and making a difference. This conference is an opportunity to join advocates, activists, and scholars in a conversation about women’s movements, building community, and advocating for social justice.

2012 William Howard Taft Lecture on Constitutional Law to Focus on Health Insurance and the Supreme Court
The University of Cincinnati College of Law is honored to present Professor Steven G. Calabresi, Class of 1940 Professor of Law, Northwestern University School of Law, as the 2012 William Howard Taft lecturer on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 12:15 p.m. The title of his lecture is "The Right to Buy Health Insurance Across State Lines: Crony Capitalism and the Supreme Court." Professor Calabresi will focus his lecture on the health care reform debate in the wake of the Supreme Court's historic decision this past June in NFIB v. Sebelius upholding the mandate to buy health insurance under the Affordable Care Act as a tax. (Read More)

The Harold C. Schott Scholarship Award Lecture Focuses on the Second Amendment
The University of Cincinnati College of Law presents Professor Darrell A.H. Miller as the Harold C. Schott Scholarship Award lecturer on Tuesday, November 13 at 12:15 p.m. The title of his lecture is "The Second Amendment in Theory and Practice." Professor Miller will explore the constitutional cases: District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. Dinsmore Raises $250K for UC Law Campaign

College of Business Tax Conference Offers 13 CLE Credits
