Open House Dates Announced for Spring

Two open houses for admitted JD applicants will be held at the law school on Friday, March 8 and Friday, April 12. Anyone admitted to the Fall 2013 entering class is invited to attend either one of the dates. A preview day for admitted applicants from diverse backgrounds is also planned for Friday, March 1. Application Deadline Nears
March 1 is an important deadline at UC Law for a couple of reasons. First, prospective students interested in joining the College of Law in Fall 2013 should apply by this date to receive full consideration of their application. And secondly, March 1 is the recommended date for incoming students to file FAFSA in order to receive full consideration of financial aid for the 2013-14 school year. Another Win for the Ohio Innocence Project
UC Law's Ohio Innocence Project achieved another victory on January 23 when a state trial judge threw out the murder conviction of Glenn Tinney, who has spent 20 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. The judge found that Tinney had made a false confession, and that his conviction was a "manifest injustice." Getting a judge to rule that a confession was false is very much an uphill battle, but the amazing work of the students and staff of the OIP through the years made it happen for Mr. Tinney. The Fiesta Bowl's Stephanie Jarvis Takes on the Challenges of College Football
On Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, two of the highest-scoring teams in college football, the University of Oregon and Kansas State University, faced off in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. While a major college football bowl game being played in Glendale, Ariz. has minimal local flavor, one of the College of Law's own played a major role in both this game and the Dec. 29 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl game between TCU and Michigan State. From India to UC Law, Daya Patibandla Pursues Dream to Become a Lawyer
Daya Patibandla '14 had long wanted to attend law school and become an attorney.
"I knew I wanted to be an attorney about 20 pages into my first John Grisham book," said Patibandla, of course referring to the classic novel, "The Firm."
After working for a year following undergrad, Patibandla took the LSAT and began looking into law schools all across the country. She enrolled at the College of Law last fall and is now halfway through with her three-year law school career. (Read
