Meeting Room Booking System

Over the past few months, we have been beta testing a simple online room reservation system for the College of Law.  We have made most of the recommended revisions to the software and are  now ready to release it for all College of Law staff members’ use.  Beginning today, you can book your own room reservations.

Here is the link: http://taft.law.uc.edu/mrbs/   Be sure to add this link to your Favorites.

To set up your password:

1.       Go to http://taft.law.uc.edu/mrbs

2.       Click on the "Log In" button located in the upper-right area of the browser.

3.       Enter your 6+2 user name and the default password. The default password is:  Book_Em_50

4.       Click the "Log In" button.

5.       After you've been logged in, click the link for "User list" located below the "Log Off" button in the upper-right area of the browser.

6.       Locate your user name in the user list. You should see a small pencil icon next to your user name. Click it.

7.       Enter your new password twice and click the "Save" button. Your password has now been changed.

To reserve a room:

1.       Log in to the system with your 6 +2 UC ID number and password.

2.       Rooms are categorized into Areas:  Classrooms, Library and Other (203, Faculty Library, Atrium, Crow’s Nest).  To see if a room is available, click on the appropriate area and select a date.  You can view rooms by day, week, or month.

3.       Double click on the begin time for the room you would like to reserve and fill in the form.

To cancel/edit a room reservation:

1.       Double click on your original reservation and select delete entry/edit entry (or series).  Edit your entry and save it again.

A few requirements/things to remember:

1.       Include the use/purpose/organization for the reservation, as well as your name and phone number in the Brief Description field (ex. Faculty Meeting, Leigh, 60080).  This information is helpful for both those trying to find where an event is being held, as well as for those trying to schedule a room.  The Full Description field is additional information that may be particularly useful for larger groups.

2.       Make sure to cancel a reservation if you no longer need the room.  Only the person originally reserving the room or a system administrator can cancel a room reservation.

3.       Law classes and make-up classes take priority over all other scheduling.  Be cautious of making any reservations for the Spring semester until the class schedule is finalized.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  This software simply reserves the room.  You will still need to contact Sherry to have an event added to the College of Law calendar and make appropriate arrangements for set-up, AV support, CLE, food, clean-up, etc.

Our intent is to announce the availability of the room reservation system to students in a few weeks at the beginning of the Fall semester.  Access to the system will also be provided via the website (and password-protected).  You will soon find it under the Current Students-Resources tab.
