The College of Law offers course and clinical experiences that provide a wide range of practical learning experiences. The law school’s five clinics offer opportunities for contact with clients, as well as the chance to help solve real-world problems.
Under the supervision of an attorney, students perform lawyer functions associated with their cases, including client and witness interviews, factual development, legal research, preparation of pleadings and negotiation. Students with the appropriate certificate from the Ohio State Bar may also be responsible for courtroom advocacy.

Jay Jackson '12
UC Law's externship program provides an invaluable experience. The course structure, consisting of classroom and field placement assignments, explores the nexus of legal theory and practice. The program better prepared me to begin my legal career, and increased my marketability in procuring employment.
Jay currently works as a Commercial Real Estate Attorney at Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP.
