First-year students who wish to apply for a fellowship should submit the following:

• an application distributed by the Institute director
• a transcript
• a resume
• a writing sample
• a statement of personal interest explaining why they wish to be considered for a Weaver fellowship

After reviewing these materials, the Institute director will select a few applicants for an in-person interview, and successful applicants are chosen from these interviewees. The deadline for application is April 15 of each academic year, and fellowship selection is completed by the beginning of May. (Download application)
