Brown Bag Lunch with Professor Solimine

March 6, 2014 12:10pm
Room 204

Professor Solimine will be discussing new trends in amicus curiae briefs and their transitioning role in the U.S. Supreme Court. He will be presenting this talk to practicing attorneys at the UC Downtown Teach-In on the 7th. This is a great opportunity to learn about new trends in the legal profession.

About the Topic
Friends of the Court or Friends of the Parties? New Trends in Amicus Curiae Briefs.  This presentation will discuss the increasing number of amicus curiae briefs being filed in the U.S. Supreme Court, lower federal courts, and state courts. The apparently increasing influence of such briefs will be addressed, using amicus briefs filed by the Solicitor General of the United States, and by state attorneys general, as case studies.

If you would like to attend, please contact Olivia Luehrmann at luehrmof@mail.uc.edu or Jackie Welp at schlunja@mail.uc.edu

Snacks will be provided! This event is sponsored by SLEC.
