Elizabeth McCord is an Assistant Professor of Practice at the College of Law. She teaches courses in the areas of legal research and writing and advocacy. Before this role, she served as a visiting professor at the law school and brings extensive practice and teaching experience to the position.
Professor McCord has over 36 years of civil practice experience representing individuals and businesses. Previously, she headed her legal practice Elizabeth McCord Law, LLC and was a partner at Montgomery, Rennie & Jonson where she also represented government officials throughout Ohio. She has worked as counsel at Gerner & Kearns Co. LPA; the Campbell County, Kentucky, Circuit Court; Strauss & Troy; and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. In addition to her legal practice, she has previously taught at the University of Cincinnati in both the College of Law and the Department of English.
McCord received her JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law, MA from Eastern Kentucky University and BA from Berea College.
