Lauren Staley
Lauren Staley is a Staff Attorney at the Ohio Innocence Project, where she represents clients, assists in teaching, supervises research efforts, and supports development initiatives. Staley is an honors graduate of Xavier University, where she earned her degree in history and was recognized for her academic achievement and leadership. She then graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she served as an award-winning fellow in OIP’s legal clinic and was recognized for her excellence during service to the Indigent Defense Clinic then operated by the Ohio Justice and Policy Center. After graduating from the College of Law, Staley served for several years as trial counsel for the Hamilton County Public Defender, protecting the rights of people charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. She also has extensive appellate experience, having served as a staff attorney for the First District Court of Appeals in Cincinnati and as a judicial attorney to Ohio Supreme Court Justice R. Patrick DeWine.
